Delete Your Account & Data

Last updated: 5 June 2026

1. Overview

This page explains how you can request the deletion of your VenueShield user account and the personal information associated with it, in line with our Privacy Policy. It applies to both the VenueShield web application and the VenueShield mobile app.

2. How to Request Deletion

To request deletion of your account and associated personal data, email us from the address registered to your account:

  • Email: support@venueshield.au with the subject "Account deletion request".
  • Include the email address associated with your VenueShield account so we can verify your identity.

We will acknowledge your request within 5 business days and may ask you to verify your identity before we proceed.

3. What Is Deleted

On a verified request, we delete the personal information tied to your individual user account, including:

  • Your account profile (name, email, phone number)
  • Your authentication identity, managed by our authentication provider (Clerk)
  • Your mobile push notification token and device preferences, where applicable

4. What May Be Retained

VenueShield is a business-to-business compliance platform. Where you use VenueShield as part of an organisation (a venue or employer), that organisation is the data controller for staff compliance records, and VenueShield acts as a data processor (see Privacy Policy §13). For that reason, some information may be retained after your personal account is deleted:

  • Organisation-owned compliance records(e.g. staff credentials, incident logs, checklists) remain under the control of the organisation that created them. To request deletion of that data, contact your organisation's administrator, who can instruct us accordingly.
  • Records we must keep by law (e.g. payment records retained for a minimum of 7 years under Australian tax law), as set out in Privacy Policy §10.
  • Backups may persist for a short period before being purged on our standard backup cycle.

5. Timeline

We process verified deletion requests within 30 days. Consistent with our retention policy (Privacy Policy §10), account data is removed from our active systems, and any remaining backup copies are purged on our standard backup cycle. Information we are legally required to retain is kept only for as long as the law requires.
